Balkan Wines is a family owned and run business based in the North West of England with the dream of delivering high quality, unique wines at an affordable price from the beautiful Balkan region of North Macedonia.

Our love affair with the Balkans began some years ago whilst managing director, Michael, travelled to the region for work. He fell in love with the land, the people, and the wonderful produce that North Macedonian has to offer. Soon after the whole family fell in love with the region too.

Like many families our most precious times together are shared around a table. Surrounded with delicious food and drink. Some of our fondest memories are from our travels to Macedonia.

Those fond memories and the delight of finding such treasures as wines that have been blessed with North Macedonian sun are the reason, we wanted to share these products with the UK.

Each vintage that we select has been crafted with the finest grapes through methods and knowledge passed down from generations of Macedonian family vintners. The wineries produce wines from well-known grapes such as Pinot noir and Sauvignon Blanc along with lesser known, native grapes such as Vranec, Kratosija, Temjanika and Plavac.

North Macedonian wine has been successfully exported throughout the world, but surprisingly very limited quantities have made it to the UK. We will be working with award winning and internationally renowned wineries of Kamnik, Bovin, Stobi, Ezimit and Queen Maria. Each offers a selection of wines that are astounding and without doubt memorable.
